As a young kid growing up in a small upstate NY town, radio is all I ever wanted to do. At a young age I was active in our church community and was transitioning from our middle school youth group to the "cool" teen group during the summer of 1982. That summer the teens were on a scavenger hunt and we needed to get a picture taken with one of the DJ,s at our local radio station which played top 40 music at the time.
The radio station had the best DJs in the area spinning vinyl records, broadcasting live events and always being upbeat on the air. I couldn't wait til they introduced that next song, give a quick weather update or even take requests over the air. At that time the station rocked the entire region as the best station to be listening to and surpassed all other stations when the ratings came out. That station was known as "Musicradio 3WT". WWWT was the actual legal ID. I wanted to be in radio!
As a kid I was thrilled about how a radio station operated and wanted to have my own station, so I set up a mock station in my bedroom with turntables, tape decks, a receiver and mic. I would buy the latest hits every week down at the AMES department store and would spin those 33/45 records til the cows came home. As college was approaching into the picture, I decided to move to Nashville in 89' and pursue radio broadcasting at a private college. I dabbled for a about year at a local station on the weekends before deciding to take a different career path.
Jumping ahead to present day and still having that love of radio, technology has given me the opportunity to pursue my dream. I decided to start my own internet radio station playing Classic Hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Musicradio 3WT (WWWT) is no longer in business so I decided to create my internet radio station with "Music Radio 3WT".
I hope you enjoy the music and our shows on Music Radio 3WT.
